The Auspicious AZ-7312 is a horizontal roller limit switch from the AZ series, built to detect the position of moving machine parts and signal the control circuit when a set point is reached. A cam, dog or moving carriage rides onto the cross roller, pushes the plunger in, and the contacts change over. When the part moves away, the plunger returns and the contacts reset.

The cross roller sits crosswise on a horizontal plunger, so it suits cams and dogs that travel across the face of the switch rather than straight into it. The roller rolls under the moving part instead of dragging against it, which cuts wear on both the switch and the cam and keeps the switching point consistent over long runs. Side mounting lets the body fit flat against a machine frame or guard where space in front of the plunger is tight.

One normally open and one normally closed contact give you both signals from a single device, so the same switch can stop a motor through the NC contact and send a position signal to a PLC through the NO contact. Rated 10A at 250VAC and 0.5A at 125VDC, it handles contactor coils and control relays directly. The oil tight and waterproof body stands up to coolant spray, dust and washdown, and the 0.01mm to 50cm per second operating speed range covers both slow creeping feeds and fast machine strokes.

Common Applications

End of travel detection on conveyors and transfer lines, position sensing on machine tool slides and tables, door and guard position monitoring, lift and hoist travel limits, packaging and filling machine cam timing, sliding gate and shutter end stops, and any machine where a moving part passes across the switch and needs to trigger a stop or a signal.

Choosing the Right Roller Limit Switch

Actuator direction is what decides the model. The AZ-7312 cross roller suits cams travelling across the switch face. When the cam approaches from the side at an angle, a lever type is usually the better fit.

For compact machines, the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108 gives a lever arm you can set to the cam position, rated 5A with IP65 protection. Where heavier switching is needed on the same lever principle, the 10A adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-5108 steps up to a larger industrial body. If the target is too far from the switch for a roller to reach, the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-8107 uses a long rod that can be cut and set to length.

For a cross roller plunger in a mini body from a second brand, see the cross roller plunger limit switch ME-8122 from Moujen. Where contact with the moving part is not wanted at all, a proximity sensor detects position without touching it. FAQ,s

What is a roller limit switch used for?

A roller limit switch detects the position of a moving machine part. When the part rides onto the roller and pushes the actuator, the contacts change over and signal the control circuit to stop, reverse or start the next step.

What does cross roller mean?

The roller sits crosswise on the plunger, so it suits cams and dogs moving across the face of the switch. The roller rolls under the moving part instead of rubbing against it, which reduces wear.

What is the difference between a plunger and a lever limit switch?

A plunger type is pressed directly by the moving part and suits short, precise travel. A lever type uses an arm that swings when struck, so it can reach targets further away and handle cams approaching from an angle.

What does 1NO plus 1NC mean?

The switch has one normally open and one normally closed contact. The NC contact is usually wired to stop a motor, while the NO contact sends a position signal to a PLC or indicator.

Can this switch be used in wet or oily areas?

Yes. The AZ-7312 is oil tight and waterproof, suited to machine tools with coolant spray and equipment that gets washed down.

Can it switch a contactor coil directly?

Yes. At 10A 250VAC it can switch contactor coils and control relays directly. For DC circuits the rating drops to 0.5A at 125VDC.
