The Auspicious AZ-5144 is a double roller limit switch carrying two wheels on the actuator head instead of one. That second wheel is the whole point of the design. A single roller works when the moving part always arrives from the same side, but on equipment that travels back and forth, a one wheel head can be knocked out of line on the return pass. Two wheels meet the cam from either direction and share the load between them.

That makes it the right choice for shuttle and reciprocating movement: trolleys running along a rail, gantries traversing a bay, or anything that has to trip the same switch on both the outward and return travel. It also spreads wear across two contact surfaces, so the actuator lasts longer in high cycle duty than a single roller doing all the work.

Electrically it is rated 10A at 125 or 300V AC with 1HP switching at 250V AC, enough to drive a small motor directly rather than going through a contactor. One normally open and one normally closed contact give a position signal and an interlock from a single unit. Dust proof and oil tight construction with stainless steel internals handles machine shop and outdoor conditions. UL and CE approvals cover it for export equipment.

Common Applications

Shuttle and reciprocating travel on gantries and trolleys, back and forth carriage movement on machine tools, crane traverse end stops, conveyor diverters that trip in both directions, sliding door and gate systems, packaging lines with reversing motion, and any point where a single roller would be knocked sideways on the return pass.

Choosing the Right Limit Switch Actuator

Within the same 10A AZ series, the actuator head is the only real variable, so match it to how the moving part arrives. If the target presses straight down from above, the ball limit switch AZ-5109 uses a top ball plunger and carries IP67 sealing. For long reach onto an irregular or distant target, the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-5107 lets you set the rod length to suit, and the big wheel limit switch AZ-5108L gives an oversized single wheel with a 90 degree adjustable lever for lifts and cranes.

Where the duty is lighter and indoors, smaller 5A units cost considerably less. The adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108 and the lever limit switch AZ-7120 cover standard machine duty, and the spring limit switch AZ-8166 flexes instead of breaking where an overrun is likely.

FAQ,s

What is a double roller limit switch?

It is a limit switch with two wheels on the actuator head rather than one. Either wheel can be pushed to operate the contacts, so the switch works whichever direction the moving part comes from.

Why choose two rollers instead of one?

On equipment that travels back and forth, a single roller can be struck at the wrong angle on the return pass and bent out of line. Two wheels take contact from both sides and share the wear between them.

What does 1NO 1NC mean?

One normally open and one normally closed contact. When a wheel is pressed, the NO closes and the NC opens, giving two signals from one device.

Can it switch a motor directly?

Yes, up to 1HP at 250V AC and half a horsepower at 125V AC. Larger motors should run through a contactor with the switch driving the coil.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The body is dust proof, oil tight and water resistant, which covers most sheltered outdoor positions. For exposed installations subject to heavy rain or immersion, choose an IP67 rated model instead.

How fast can it detect movement?

The operating speed range runs from 1mm per second up to 2m per second, covering slow positioning and fast travel alike.
