The Auspicious AM-1308 is a roller type limit switch with a top plunger actuator, built to detect a moving part and switch a control circuit when that part arrives. The roller sits at the top of the plunger,so the moving part presses down onto it in line with the switch body rather than from the side.

The roller is the reason this model outlasts a plain plunger in repeat duty. A cam sliding across a bare plunger head scrapes it, and over thousands of cycles that wear changes the trip point and eventually jams the plunger. The roller turns instead of scraping, so friction stays low, the trip point stays consistent and the switch keeps working long after a plain plunger would have failed.

At 15A on 125 or 250V AC it carries far more current than a typical 5A micro switch, and the quarter horsepower rating means it can drive a small motor directly instead of going through a contactor. IP55 protection covers dust and low pressure water, which suits most machine and workshop environments. One normally open and one normally closed contact give a position signal and an interlock from a single unit. UL and CE approvals cover it for export machinery.

Common Applications

Cam operated sequencing on machine tools, door and guard position detection, end of travel stops on presses and slides, vending and dispensing mechanisms, small motor switching without a contactor, jig and fixture position confirmation, conveyor stop positions, and any repeat cycle application where a plain plunger would wear out.

Choosing the Right Limit Switch Actuator

The actuator has to match the way the moving part approaches. A roller plunger suits a cam pressing down in line with the switch. Where the part arrives from the side, a lever reaches out to meet it: the lever limit switch AZ-7120 is a side mount option also rated 10A.

If the contact point varies or the target sits away from the switch, the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108 lets you set the lever length, and the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-8107 gives long reach onto irregular targets. For contact from any direction, or where an overrun could damage a rigid actuator, the spring limit switch AZ-8166 flexes instead of breaking. Where the push comes in at an angle, the cross roller plunger limit switch ME-8122 accepts approach from more than one side.

FAQ,s

What is a roller type limit switch used for?

It detects when a moving part reaches a set position. A cam or dog presses the roller, the plunger moves down, and the contacts change over to signal the controller.

Why choose a roller instead of a plain plunger?

Because a roller turns rather than scraping. A sliding cam wears a plain plunger head over time, shifting the trip point and eventually jamming it. The roller keeps friction low and the trip point repeatable.

What does 1NO 1NC mean?

One normally open and one normally closed contact. When the roller is pressed, the NO closes and the NC opens, giving two signals from a single device.

Can it switch a motor directly?

Yes, up to a quarter horsepower at 250V AC. Anything larger should go through a contactor with the switch driving the coil.

Is IP55 enough for a workshop?

IP55 resists dust and low pressure water, which covers most indoor machine and workshop conditions. For washdown or coolant heavy areas choose an IP65 rated model instead.

How fine is the detection?

The operating speed range starts at 0.01mm per second, so it handles very slow, precise movement as well as faster travel up to 1m per second.
