The Auspicious AZ-6114 is a plunger roller switch built for position detection on machinery that runs fast and works in dirty conditions. A cam or moving part presses the roller, the plunger travels straight down, and the momentary contacts change over to tell the controller the part has arrived.

The roller is the reason this model outlasts a plain plunger in sliding applications. When a cam slides across a bare plunger it scrapes and wears the tip, and side loading eventually bends it. A roller turns with the cam instead, taking the same movement as rotation rather than friction. On a machine cycling thousands of times a day, that difference decides how often the switch needs replacing.

Construction is heavier than the mini switches in this range. The metal body and stainless steel internals handle knocks that would crack a plastic housing, and IP67 sealing means it survives full dust ingress and temporary immersion, not just splashes. At 15A on 125 or 250VAC it can switch a contactor coil or a small load directly, and the 1m per second operating speed suits fast moving carriages and conveyors.

Common Applications

Carriage and table position sensing on machine tools, end of travel detection on fast conveyors, press and stamping machine cycle confirmation, car wash and outdoor equipment exposed to water, hoist and gantry limits, packaging line indexing, and any point where a cam slides across the actuator repeatedly.

Choosing the Right Limit Switch

Actuator type and duty level decide the model. A roller plunger like the AZ-6114 suits a cam that slides across the switch in line with the plunger. Where the target approaches from an angle or the contact point shifts, a lever is the better answer, such as the lever limit switch AZ-7120 for simple travel or the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108 where lever length needs setting on site.

For a long reach or an irregular target, the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-8107 uses a flexible rod that can be shaped to suit. If you want roller lever action with a larger body, the 10A adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-5108 sits between the mini range and this one. Where the target can push from more than one direction, the cross roller plunger limit switch ME-8122 takes actuation from either side.

FAQ,s

What is a roller switch used for?

It detects when a moving part reaches a set position. The part presses the roller, the plunger moves in, and the contacts switch to signal the machine to stop, reverse or start the next step.

Why choose a roller plunger over a plain plunger?

A plain plunger scrapes against a cam that slides past it, wearing the tip and bending under side load. The roller turns with the movement instead, so the switch lasts much longer in sliding applications.

What does IP67 mean on this switch?

IP67 means the switch is fully dust tight and can survive temporary immersion in water, so it works in washdown areas and outdoor installations rather than just damp ones.

What does 1NO 1NC momentary mean?

It has one normally open and one normally closed contact sharing a common terminal, and they only stay switched while the roller is pressed. Release the roller and they return to their resting state.

How fast can the target move?

Up to 1 metre per second. The switch also works reliably at very slow speeds down to 0.01mm per second.

Can it switch a contactor coil directly?

Yes. The 15A rating at 125 or 250VAC is enough to switch most control coils and small loads without an interposing relay.
