The Auspicious AZ-5107 is an adjustable rod limit switch built for heavy equipment that works outdoors. The switch rod extends from the head and can be set to the length and angle your machine needs, then rotates through 90 degrees when the moving part strikes it. That movement operates the contacts and tells the controller the position has been reached.

A rod actuator suits targets a plain lever cannot reach. Because the switch rod can be adjusted, one part number covers a range of travel distances and approach angles, which saves guessing the exact geometry before the machine is built. It also handles targets that arrive from slightly different directions each cycle, where a fixed roller lever would miss or wear unevenly.

This is the heavy duty version of the AZ range. IP67 sealing means the body survives dust and temporary immersion, not just splashing, so it holds up on cranes, hoists and lifting gear exposed to weather. Stainless steel internals resist corrosion, and the 10A rating at 125 or 300V AC allows direct switching of contactor coils rather than only feeding a PLC. Motor ratings of half horsepower at 125V AC and one horsepower at 250V AC are also listed.

Common Applications

Overhead and gantry crane travel limits, hoist upper and lower stops, lift and elevator position control, gate and barrier end detection, heavy conveyor systems, outdoor material handling equipment, and any application where the target position varies and the actuator needs adjusting on site.

Choosing the Right Limit Switch

Actuator type follows how the moving part reaches the switch. A rod suits distant or variable targets, a lever suits short predictable travel, and a plunger suits a direct push from a fixed face.

Within the same heavy duty 10A range, the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-5108 adds a roller for cams that slide past repeatedly, and the ball plunger limit switch AZ-5109 takes a direct push from above where there is no room for a swinging arm.

If the duty is lighter and the budget tighter, the mini AZ series covers the same actuator styles at 5A: the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-8107 and the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108. For a compact side mounted unit on machine frames, see the lever limit switch AZ-7120.

FAQ,s

What is a rod limit switch used for?

It detects when a moving part reaches a set position. The part strikes the switch rod, the rod rotates, and the contacts change over to signal the controller to stop, reverse or continue.

How far can the switch rod be adjusted?

The rod length and angle are set during installation, so one switch covers a range of travel distances. Fix it at the point where the target makes firm contact without overtravelling the head.

What does 1NO 1NC mean?

One normally open and one normally closed contact. When the rod operates, the NO closes and the NC opens, giving you a position signal and an interlock from the same device.

Is IP67 needed outdoors?

For cranes, gates and lifting gear exposed to rain and washdown, yes. IP67 covers dust ingress and temporary immersion, which is a step above the IP65 splash rating common on indoor switches.

Can it switch a motor directly?

Small ones. The switch is rated half horsepower at 125V AC and one horsepower at 250V AC. Larger motors should be switched through a contactor.

What is the difference between a rod and a roller lever actuator?

A rod reaches further and flexes to meet targets arriving at different angles. A roller lever gives a fixed, repeatable trip point with less wear when a cam slides across it.
