The TER C025813A0 is a safety limit switch with manual reset, built for positions where the machine must not restart on its own. A standard limit switch resets itself the moment the moving part clears it, which is fine for sequencing but wrong for safety. This one latches when it trips and stays latched until someone walks over and presses the reset. Nobody can be standing inside a guard when the machine comes back on because the reset has to be done by hand, in person.

The roller plunger actuator takes a cam or a guard edge pressing straight down onto it, with the roller reducing wear where a plain plunger would scrape. Contacts are 1NO plus 1NC with snap action, so the transition is fast and positive rather than drifting with the speed of the moving part.

Construction is where the TER product separates itself from lighter switches. The body is metal rather than plastic, sealed to IP66 against dust and powerful water jets, with a single M20 gland entry. At 30mm wide it stays compact enough for tight guard frames. Rated AC15 400V 4A, it switches contactor coils on three phase control circuits directly. Made in Italy, it suits projects where European origin equipment is specified.

Common Applications

Guard and access door interlocks on presses and machine tools, end of travel protection where an overtravel must be investigated before restart, conveyor and material handling safety stops, lift and hoist limit protection, washdown areas in food and beverage plants, and any position where the machine restarting unattended would put someone at risk.

Choosing the Right Safety Switch

The actuator and the reset method are the two decisions. This model uses a roller plunger for direct contact from a cam or guard edge. Where the hazard area is long and open, such as alongside a conveyor, a rope is better than a fixed point: the cable pull limit switch C55579800C3 runs a wire the full length so a worker can stop the line from anywhere, and it also latches until manually reset.

For ordinary position sensing and sequencing, where automatic reset is acceptable and no safety function is involved, standard limit switches cost far less. The roller plunger limit switch AM-1308 handles 15A duty, the lever limit switch AZ-7120 is a compact side mount option, the big wheel limit switch AZ-5108L suits lifts and cranes at IP67, and the spring limit switch AZ-8166 flexes rather than breaking under overrun.

A safety circuit usually needs a stop control at the operator station too. Pair this switch with a 16mm emergency stop button. Browse the full 5 amp mini limit switch range or the wider limit and micro switches category.

FAQ,s

What is a safety limit switch?

It is a limit switch built into a machine safety circuit rather than a sequencing circuit. It is constructed to a higher standard, usually with a metal body, positive contacts and a reset that stops the machine starting again on its own.

Why does it need manual reset?

So the machine cannot restart the moment the guard closes or the moving part clears the switch. Someone has to press the reset deliberately, which means a person has checked the area before power returns.

What does snap action mean?

The contacts change over quickly and fully regardless of how slowly the actuator is pressed. That prevents slow arcing and gives a clean, repeatable switching point.

What does IP66 cover?

IP66 means the body is fully dust tight and withstands powerful water jets, so it suits washdown areas, outdoor plant and heavy industrial environments.

Can this switch control a contactor directly?

Yes. The AC15 400V 4A rating covers inductive loads such as contactor coils on three phase control circuits.

What cable entry does it use?

A single M20 gland entry on a 30mm wide metal body
