The Auspicious V1518700 is a top plunger micro limit switch from the V15-187 series, rated 10A at 250VAC. Press the plunger and the internal snap action mechanism flips the contacts over in a single fast movement, regardless of how slowly the plunger is pushed. That snap is what makes a micro limit switch reliable for position sensing, since the contacts never hover in a half made state that would cause arcing or chatter.

The switch carries one normally open and one normally closed contact on a common terminal, so the same unit can either make or break a circuit when the plunger is pressed. It is designed to be built into equipment rather than mounted on a panel, which is why it turns up inside appliances, vending machines, door interlocks, and small machinery where a full size industrial limit switch would not fit.

Mechanical life is rated at one million operations and electrical life at one hundred thousand operations at full load. A 2500V impulse withstand rating and glow wire level 3 cover the insulation and fire safety requirements appliance makers work to. TUV and CE approvals cover it for export equipment, and each order ships as a pack of two.

Choosing Between a Micro Limit Switch and an Industrial Limit Switch

A micro limit switch is built into equipment and suits light duty, clean environments and tight spaces. Where the switch has to sit exposed on a machine and face dust, oil or water, an enclosed limit switch with an IP65 body is the better choice.

For those heavier duty positions, the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ8108 and the adjustable rod lever limit switch AZ8107 both carry IP65 protection with 1NO plus 1NC contacts. Where a roller plunger suits the cam or target better, see the cross roller plunger limit switch ME8122. For higher current duty on heavy machinery, the 10A adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ5108 is the rugged option.

FAQ

What is a micro limit switch?

It is a small, snap action switch that changes its contacts when an actuator is pressed by a moving part. It is used to detect position, confirm a door or guard is closed, or signal that a mechanism has reached the end of its travel.

What does snap action mean?

The contacts change over in one fast movement once the plunger passes its operating point, no matter how slowly it is pressed. This prevents arcing and contact chatter, and gives a clean, repeatable signal.

What does 1NO and 1NC mean on this switch?

The switch has a common terminal plus one normally open and one normally closed terminal. Wire to NO if the circuit should close when the plunger is pressed, or to NC if it should open.

Can it switch a load directly?

Yes, up to 10A at 250VAC. For inductive loads such as motors or solenoids, allow a margin below the full rating to extend contact life.

How long does a micro limit switch last?

This model is rated for at least one million mechanical operations and one hundred thousand electrical operations at full load. Life at lighter loads is usually longer.

How many switches come in one order?

Each order is a pack of two switches at the listed price.
