The Auspicious AM-1701 is a long lever limit switch from the AM microswitch series, built to detect a moving part that sits away from the switch body. The extended lever reaches out to meet the target, so the switch itself can be mounted clear of the moving mechanism where there is room for it, rather than crammed in next to the contact point.

A longer lever does two useful things. It reaches further, and it needs less force to operate because the extra length gives more leverage on the internal plunger. That matters when the moving part is light, such as a door flap, a hopper gate or a thin panel, where a plunger type switch would need more push than the target can deliver.

Despite the small body, it carries 15A at 125 or 250V AC and will switch a quarter horsepower motor directly at 250V AC, so it can control a load without a contactor in between. One normally open and one normally closed contact give a position signal and an interlock from a single unit. IP55 protection covers dust and low pressure water for normal machine and workshop conditions. CE marked and made in Taiwan.
