Its C curve tripping characteristic allows normal inrush from small transformers, contactor coils and control gear to pass without nuisance tripping, while still clearing genuine faults quickly. Why choose a C curve MCB instead of a B curve?

 A C curve trips between 5 and 10 times rated current, so it tolerates the brief inrush of transformers, motors and contactor coils. A B curve trips between 3 and 5 times and is better suited to resistive and lighting loads.

What does 10kA breaking capacity mean?
