The Anly ASR 100DA H is a Solid State Relay 100A built to switch heavy AC loads from a low voltage DC control signal. A 4 to 32VDC output from a PLC, temperature controller or timer is enough to drive it, and the relay handles up to 100 amps across a 48 to 480VAC load range on the output side.

Because it switches through semiconductors instead of moving contacts, there is nothing inside to wear out, arc or stick. That means silent operation, no contact bounce, and a service life far beyond what a mechanical contactor gives you on the same duty. On applications that cycle constantly, such as heater control driven by a temperature controller, this is the difference between a component that lasts years and one that needs replacing every few months.

Zero cross switching turns the load on as the AC waveform passes through zero volts, which keeps inrush current and electrical noise down and protects both the load and other equipment sharing the panel. The unit mounts flat to a panel or backplate at 57mm by 43mm by 25.3mm and weighs only 92g. It carries UL Listed, C UL and CE Mark approval, so it can go into export panels without a certification problem.

At 100 amps this relay must be mounted on an adequately sized heat sink with thermal compound. Sizing the heat sink correctly is the single most common cause of premature SSR failure, so plan for it at the design stage.

Common Applications

Industrial heater and oven control, plastic injection and extrusion barrel zones, packaging and sealing machines, furnace and kiln elements, boiler and immersion heater circuits, lighting banks with high switching frequency, and any process where a protection relay or power relay would fail early because of the number of operations per hour.

Choosing the Right Current Rating

If 100A is more than your load needs, the same ASR series is available in lower ratings. A 40A solid state relay suits mid range heater zones, while a 25A solid state relay covers smaller single zone applications. If your control signal is AC rather than DC, choose the 100A AC to AC solid state relay instead. For DC load switching, the 25A DC to DC model handles 5 to 240VDC. FAQ

What is a Solid State Relay 100A used for?

It switches AC loads up to 100 amps using a small DC control signal, with no moving contacts. It is the standard choice for heater control, ovens and any load that cycles frequently, where a mechanical contactor would wear out quickly.

Does the ASR 100DA H need a heat sink?

Yes. At high currents an SSR generates significant heat and must be mounted on a heat sink sized for the actual load current, with thermal paste between the base and the sink. Running it without one will shorten its life or destroy it.

What does zero cross switching mean?

The relay waits for the AC waveform to cross zero volts before turning the load on. This reduces inrush current and electrical interference, which suits resistive loads such as heaters and lighting.

Can this SSR switch three phase loads?

This is a single phase device. For three phase switching use three single units or select a dedicated three phase SSR.

Can it be driven directly from a PLC output?

Yes. The 4 to 32VDC input range covers standard 12V and 24V PLC and temperature controller outputs, so no interposing relay is needed.

What is the difference between a solid state relay and a contactor?

A contactor uses mechanical contacts that physically close, so it wears with every operation and makes noise. An SSR switches electronically with no moving parts, giving silent operation, faster switching and a much longer life on high cycle duty. The trade off is heat, which is why a heat sink is required.
