The Auspicious AZ-7311 is a roller plunger limit switch in a side mount body. A plunger limit switch works by direct push: the moving part presses the plunger straight in along its axis, and that travel operates the contacts. There is no lever arm to swing, so the trip point is precise and repeatable, which matters when the machine has to stop at the same place every cycle.

The roller on the plunger head is what makes it practical for cam work. A bare plunger gets scraped by every pass of a cam and eventually wears or jams. The roller turns under that contact instead, keeping friction low and the trip point consistent through long cycle counts.

The side mount body lets the switch sit flat along a machine frame or guide rail with the plunger facing the direction of travel. Contacts are one normally open, one normally closed and a common terminal, so a single unit gives both a position signal and an interlock. Rated 10A at 250V AC and 0.5A at 125V DC, it switches AC control circuits directly and feeds DC inputs into a PLC. The IP65, oil tight and waterproof body suits machine tools with coolant, conveyors and wash down areas. CE marked and made in Taiwan.

Common Applications

Cam operated sequencing on machine tools, slide and carriage end of travel stops, jig and fixture position confirmation, guard and cover interlocks, conveyor stop positions, packaging and assembly line indexing, and any repeat cycle duty where the moving part pushes straight onto the switch.

Choosing the Right Limit Switch Actuator

The actuator has to match how the moving part arrives. A plunger limit switch needs the push to come in line with the switch body. Where the part approaches from the side or at an angle, a lever reaches out to meet it: the lever limit switch AZ-7120 shares the same side mount body and 10A rating.

If the contact point shifts between cycles, the adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-8108 lets you set the lever length, and the adjustable rod limit switch AZ-8107 gives long reach onto irregular targets. For a push that may come from more than one direction, the cross roller plunger limit switch ME-8122 accepts angled approach, and where an overrun could snap a rigid actuator the spring limit switch AZ-8166 simply flexes.

For higher current, the roller plunger limit switch AM-1308 carries 15A from a top roller plunger. On heavy plant such as lifts and cranes, the big wheel limit switch AZ-5108L and the 10A adjustable roller lever limit switch AZ-5108 are the robust options.

FAQ,s

What is a plunger limit switch?

It is a limit switch operated by direct push. The moving part presses the plunger straight in rather than swinging a lever, so the switch trips at a precise and repeatable point.

When should I use a plunger instead of a lever?

Use a plunger when the moving part travels straight at the switch and accuracy matters. Use a lever when the part approaches from the side, arrives at a varying point, or sits too far away for direct contact.

Why does the plunger have a roller on it?

To handle sliding contact. A cam passing across a bare plunger scrapes it and eventually shifts the trip point or jams it. The roller turns instead, so wear stays low over long cycle counts.

What does 1NO 1NC with a common contact mean?

The switch has one normally open and one normally closed contact sharing a common terminal. Pressing the plunger closes the NO and opens the NC, giving a position signal and an interlock from one unit.

Can it connect directly to a PLC?

Yes. The 0.5A 125V DC rating covers standard 24V DC PLC inputs, and the 10A 250V AC rating allows direct switching of AC control circuits.

Is it suitable for coolant and wash down areas?

Yes. The IP65 body is oil tight and waterproof, so it holds up around machine tool coolant, conveyors and wash down environments.
